From: "Kevin W. Davidson"

Greetings. I can introduce myself and test posting to the list at the
same time!

I'm Kevin Davidson, member of St. Matthias Lutheran Church in Easley,
SC. I've been Lutheran for about 15 years, formerly Southern Baptist.
Our congregation seems to be largely made up of Baptist refugees and
transplanted Yankees (~340 CCC's). A great bunch of folks!

I'm our congregation's Financial Secretary (4th year, pant, pant),
I am the cantor, and teach adult Sunday School part time. I also
sing in the choir and serve on the Congregation Council, Stewardship
and Constitutional Review committees. Formerly I have been delegate
to the SC Synod, congregation president, and member of the Worship
and Music and Staff Support Committees.

Beyond every Lutheran's first interest (grace), I am interested
in Stewardship, Church financial automation (I am working on my
3rd version of a contribution accounting system), theology on
the Internet, church constitutions, and the Historical Jesus.

Personally, I am 46 years old, married to Anne with two children,
Patrick and Thomas (14 and 10). I have a MS in Mathematics from
Clemson Univ (1974) and now write computer software for Public
Health (our company home page is www.qsinc.com).

I have been an active participant in the talk.religion.misc
newsgroup for about three years now. I think that most articles
in that newsgroup would not pass the Netiquette for this group.
This mailing list should be a breath of fresh air!

From: Jonathan Dixon

Since I have been lurking for a while now, I guess it is time to
introduce myself. My name is Jon Dixon, and I am a graduate student in
electrical engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder. I am
also the president of Christus Rex, the student congregation of Lutheran
Campus Ministry (ELCA) here at the university. In addition to my
research and work with LCM, I am an Assistant Scoutmaster for a troop
here in Boulder (in all of my free time).

I have been on LTHRN-L for quite some time now, although I only pop in
briefly when I feel that I absolutely have to respond to a post. I'll
probably do much the same here.

Signing in from Dundalk, Maryland is John Dornheim--that's outside
Baltimore, hon--where I pastor the congereation of St. Lukes
EvangelicalLutheran Church.

Born and baptized RC and Greek Orthodox! Go figure--whatever were those
priests thinking?

One year of Episcopalian sunday school (gr. 5)

Joined Lutheran (LCMS) church at 17. Veteran (survivor?!) of the LCMS
collegiate system-Bronxville, Ft. Wayne, St. Louis. Graduate of Christ
Seminary aka Concordia Seminary in Exile/Seminex in 1977.

After doing refugee resettlement work for sometime, was finally ordained
in 1990 by Wm. Lazareth after two years of recertification work (it's a
long merger related story).

Married to Meredith Anne with soon to be 6 year old daughter Rachel
Anne. Have two cats and one dog.
I lean toward traditional High Church Lutheran worship, feeling that
holy communion needs to be offered weekly and not weakly. I am Prior of
the local chapter of the Order of St. Luke which is an order begun in the
Methodist Church for the restoration of sacramental piety. Ours is the
first chapter to have begun ecumenically.

I presently have two books at the publisher. The first: And He took a
Loaf of Bread is a collection of over 80 recipes for altar bread with
commentary. The second is a series of eucharistic prayers for the lesser
feasts and festivals entitled In Remembrance of Me. Finally, nearing
completion, is a volume concerned with crafting funerals for children.
